What is a week at camp like?
During camp, your teen will:
Learn to identify the parts of the rowing shell (boat) and what they do
Practice the rowing stroke on dry land using our Concept2 rowing ergometers
Properly carry and launch the boat into the water
Experience lots and lots of sweep rowing (first by pairs while the other kids balance (set) the boat, then by fours (or eights).
Our professional coaches create a safe and supportive environment,
while current team members help keep the experience fun, engaging,
and encouraging both on and off the water. Campers build confidence,
teamwork, camaraderie, and a love for the sport of rowing.

Please email Emilie Gross (director@jordanlakerowingclub.org) with questions about our summer camp weeks or with any questions related to Jordan Lake Rowing Club
By the end of camp, many participants catch the “rowing bug” and can’t wait
to get back out on the water in our shells again—because nothing else
feels quite like rowing! Campers leave excited, confident, and ready to
join our recreational team in the fall or, (with permission) advance to our competitive team.
We really look forward to sharing the sport of rowing with you.
